The Plow King

Watercolor on board, 8×10

I enjoy The Simpsons. I enjoy painting. So why not?

I started this piece probably a year ago. The original purpose of this painting was to try out some watercolor pencils I had purchased. The pencils sucked. Not because they where low quality but because they suck. I’m just not a big fan of watercolor pencils. What’s the point? Just use watercolor or colored pencils. Anyway here is the finished piece. Enjoy!

  3. Try General’s watercolor pencils. Even for plain old colored pencil work without a wash (and I don’t like colored pencil.) I teach drawing and watercolor and General’s is the only brand that seems to work well. I have a pair of boots posted now on my blog that I did with graphite and watercolor pencil (both General’s.) I used to turn my nose up at General’s because of the packaging. Then I used them and was wowed by the quality of their graphite and the watercolor pencils. (Don’t like their colored pencils though.) Scary Plow King dude, man.

  4. I use watercolor pencils but I run my wet brush over the tips…I don’t actually use the pencils on the paper. LOL I got used to doing it that way and I can control the color. Great artwork.
